About Brú
The service center at Bru has been operated since 1954. The beginning of it all is related to the Icelandic Post and Telephone Company moving all its services from Budareyri to Bru. The company built a new house that serviced the entire area of the Western fjords and was also the main telephone switch board between the Northern and
With modern technology and development of the telephone and postal service, the house was no longer needed for the operations of the company and, eventually, the postal service was moved to Stadarskali.
Today, the old building of the telephone exchange center has been renovated. An information center is now operating on the ground floor and a pleasant overnight accommodation is offered as well.
Stadarskali acquired the service center and the old telephone house in 2002, and we now offer a wide range of service at Bru such as convenient store, restaurant, petrol-station, overnight accommodation and ATM / Cash Automat.
You are always welcome to Brú !
